Job Overview

Senior IT Manager position responsible for managing a global dev- ops model team focused on building out our WM Derivatives and Common Services like ROI, Synapse and Connect frameworks. Responsible for delivery of IT solutions with a focus on time to market, quality of service, effective IT investment and expense management .

Overall responsibilities include: 

Provide engineering leadership to WM Derivatives and Common Services by bringing in agile processes and competencies, new technologies and decommissioning of legacy platforms.

Manage a complex and varied stream of project deliverables in terms of quality, timeframe and cost. 

Senior stakeholder management is an integral part of the role, and as such the successful candidate will be responsible for build governance, working with the Product Management and engagement teams, communicating status to senior technology and business sponsors. Excellent verbal and written communication will be essential for effectiveness in this role 

Build, train and develop, depth and skill of technology staff to improve overall delivery stream and quality of our application portfolio

The role requires a proven leader with superior technology skills. Domain skills in IT organization, development and talent management are a must. The candidate must also possess relationship building skills given the extensive interfacing required with IT senior management and cross- function leaders. 

The role has a high level of responsibility for delivery of technology for the systems globally. The candidate will work closely with the regional and global teams to deliver high quality technology services and projects on time, on scope, and on budget.

Required Capabilities: 

Management and Leadership Skills 

Ability to build relationships across the enterprise with Lines of Businesses, Technology, and Business where relevant 

Experience in managing and ramping up large teams commitment to attract, develop and retain talent 

Experience in working in large global complex matrix organizations 

Must have excellent interpersonal, relationship and negotiating skills 

Ability to accurately interpret business direction and clarify technology’s alignment making recommendation for adapting the team to different skills (technology, behavioral, soft skills) as required 

Ability to effectively manage a complex and demanding book of work supporting the Derivatives and Common Services organization 

Experience in managing vendor applications 

Excellent partnership and people management practices 

Control the fixed costs and achieve year on year savings (hardware, space, resources costs etc.) as well as develop practices with Technology managers to optimize resources usage and deliver on going re- engineering opportunities and develop/ produce productivity metrics accordingly. 

Understanding of the Risk & Regulatory environment and being able to make decisions accordingly 

Technical/ Domain Skills: 

Knowledge or experience in systems pertaining to the following investment processes: Global wealth management, especially within the Americas and/ or EMEA regions 

Experience of implementation/ integration of vendor platforms in marketing systems a big plus 

Expert understanding of distributed technologies, with capability to intervene on a hands- on basis as required 

Must have experience in project/ program management 

Advanced IT, process improvement and problem solving skills. 

Experience with Agile development methodologies is preferred 

The ideal candidate will have: 

15 to 20 years of relevant IT experience with at least 5 years in management or senior level roles 

Computer science engineering degree from a premier institute
